b.  Co-investigator in the ECOSAR II project; Biophysical characterisation of tropical ecosystems by spaceborne synthetic aperture radar remote sensing. 2000 - 2001

c. Co-Investigator for the DDK projects: in these projects hyperspectral remote sensing and LiDAR were used to study sand dynamics along the Belgian coast. An operational method to follow up erosion and sedimentation was developed. 2001 - 2004

d. Principal investigator in the OVAM project; Species Identification and Stress Detection of heavy-Metal Contaminated Trees; 2002

e. Principal Investigator for the HYPERKART project: the aim of this project was to develop an operational method for the classification of vegetation, applied to the Belgian dunes. 2004 - 2005

f. Principal Investigator for the TANIMBAR project: the aim of this project was to develop a method for the classification of coral reef bottom types and health status. 2005 - 2006
