Add-drop periods end one month after the semester starts whereas the drop only period last for another two weeks.

Admission and Application

For instructions and general admission criteria (TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, etc.) and FAQ please visit the web-page.The instructions should be followed carefully. Each MSc and PhD program description includes information on specific requirements in addition to the general application criteria. For all students, admission is conditional upon tuition fee payment.

Accomodation Possibilities

All student houses and dormitories are fully occupied by undergraduate students. Although the accomodation office and international students office assist international MSc and PhD in finding accomodation, accomodation is not fully guaranteed for graduate students. Therefore it is higly recommended to arrange and evaluate accomodation offerings and options in time.

The monthly rent varies significantly in Istanbul, depending on the location and type of accomodation.

Residence Permit

The residence permit application must be submitted to the Turkish embassy or consulate in the home country of the student as soon as the applicant is accepted by ITU. The embassy or consulate will send the application to the Turkish Immigration Service that is responsible for issuing the residence permit. It should be noted that ITU canot assist graduate students with the process and it takes time to process the residence permit application.
